Children’s eyes develop quickly, so it’s important to catch eye health issues as early as possible. Pediatric eye exams test for age-specific conditions, including strabismus (crossed eyes), amblyopia (lazy eye), and vision impairments like myopia (nearsightedness). If your children frequently use digital devices like computers and tablets, pediatric eye exams are important to help prevent digital eye strain.

Following the standards of care, we recommend your child's first visit is between six months and one year of age. After that, we recommend bringing your child in at three years old, then at least annually once they start school. We may recommend more frequent visits if they require specialty eyewear or there are concerns about vision health issues.
